Cracked Conch
A Cayman classic, this half tiki-bar / half fine-dining waterfront restaurant offers al fresco dining and Caribbean fare – Conch Chowder, Red Snapper, Short Rib Ravioli, Braised Turtle. Worth the 15-20 minute taxi ride for the views alone!

Calypso Grill
Recommended to us by a resident on the island, Calypso Grill features contemporary American cuisine. Famous for their Sticky Toffee Pudding. Award winning wine list. Located a 15 minute taxi ride through the West Bay countryside with its raucous parrots, roosters and the odd cow.

Everything is made fresh daily in LUCA’s kitchens, from breads to pastas to desserts. Chef Federico’s culinary philosophy is pure and simple: source the best quality, freshest ingredients possible and don’t mess with them. Our wedding reception will be held at LUCA on Friday evening! And, we’d highly recommend booking your flight home for Monday so you can enjoy LUCA’s famous Boozy Brunch on Sunday! Unlimited champagne and the most exquisite all-you-can-eat brunch buffet: raw bar, sushi, carving stations, quiche, pastries, pastas…did we mention the unlimited champagne? You WILL find Jen & Tom at LUCA Brunch on Sunday- you should make a reservation too! 🙂

The Wharf
Classic Cayman waterfront dining in the heart of George Town.  Surf & Turf, Crabmeat & Veal, Jerk Spiced Salmon.  While the food gets mixed reviews, the location provides amazing sunset views and the Tarpon Feeding sessions delight tourists.

Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink
Opened by James Beard Award-winning chef/owner Michael Schwartz, MGFD specializes in local & sustainable food. Tom & Jen enjoyed an excellent dinner here and would highly recommend it for the foodies in the group! (We had pig ear. For dessert.) Roasted Local Okra, Snapper Ceviche, Chargrilled Octopus, Duck Confit, Sweet & Spicy Pork Belly. Want to live dangerously? Try the chef’s specialty- which also happens to be an invasive species of fish that’s been wreaking havoc on the Cayman ecosystem – Lionfish. Once the venomous spines are carefully removed, lionfish is not only completely safe to consume, but it is good eats. We asked the chef to substitute lionfish for the salmon entrée on the menu – he was happy to oblige!

Romantic & casual, featuring contemporary cuisine- Mustard Crusted Pork Chop, Shrimp Povencal, Mahi Cassoulet, Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese Pasta. Hemingway’s features a Wine Spectator award winning wine list.

Ristorante Pappagallo
We didn’t dine here, but from the outside it looks like Robinson Crusoe’s tree house – complete with a wooden bridge that leads you into the thatched-roof restaurant. Located in West Bay, it’s a 20-25 minute taxi ride but if you’re yearning for an authentic island atmosphere it may be worth the trek. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Seafood Risotto, Tiger Shrimp alla Busara, Veal Chop Milanese.

Blue Cilantro
One of the newest, upscale restaurants on Cayman, this offers a spicy, Indian-influenced alternative to traditional island fare. Offering both a la carte and 3- and 5-course tasting menus. Clay Oven Breads, Asian Aromatic Sea Food, Mediterranean Paella, Mint Powder Lamb.

The sister restaurant to Luca, Ragazzi offers traditional Italian and seafood dishes. But you’d be silly not to go for the brick oven pizza… Arugula w/ ricotta & ham; Carbonara w/ spinach, egg & bacon; California w/ roasted garlic & artichokes; there’s even a Frutti di Mare pizza topped w/ lobster, clams, mussels & fresh basil.

Macabuca Tiki Bar (at Cracked Conch)
Laid-back outdoor, waterfront tiki bar located atop Turtle Reef, one of the best scuba diving sites on GC. Conch Fritters, Coconut Shrimp, Jerk Burgers, Mahi Mahi Sandwiches. And boat drinks.

Tiki Beach
Housed under a massive thatched roof, this place is a bar, restaurant and watersports center.  Located on Seven Mile Beach. “International” cuisine – Conch Fritters, Tuna Tataki, Szechuan Tikitori Shrimp Skewers, Jamaican Jerk Penne Pasta, Tiki House Curry.

Paperman’s Coffee House
A fantastic, cozy little coffee shop serving Intelligentsia Coffee- a perfect spot to read the daily paper. We came here every morning! Hot & Iced Coffee, Lattes, Baked Goodies, Home-made Sandwiches & Salads & Soups.

Coconut Joe’s Beach Bar & Grill
Go for the frozen margaritas, stay for the nachos. A “rustic” beach bar (located across the street from the Marriott) with ESPN on every TV and Carly Rae Jepsen playing loudly.  Angus Burgers & Sliders, Grouper Tacos, “Monkey” Wings, Poutine(!), Quesadillas, and a full breakfast menu (pancakes, omelets, egg & cheese sammies). If at any point you can’t find the bride, she’s probably here eating these nachos…
